    Give feedback on the financial support you get and need
    We’re getting in touch with you on behalf of our colleagues at Oranga Tamariki-Ministry for Children.

    Oranga Tamariki is carrying out a review of the financial assistance given to caregivers and would like to hear what you have to say.

    Come along and have your say
    Oranga Tamariki is carrying out consultation sessions across the country and would like you to come along and talk about what financial support is working for you, and what is not.

    A consultation hui will be held on Monday 8 July from 10am to 2.30pm at:

    Horouta Marae
    Whitford Brown Avenue
    Papakowhai
    Porirua

    You’re welcome to bring your child/children. Oranga Tamariki will reimburse you for actual and reasonable travel costs.

    How to RSVP
    Please try to let Oranga Tamariki know by 1 July if you would like to attend the consultation. Please invite other caregivers you know to attend as well. If you’re unable to attend there will be a further opportunity to share your views.

    Why does Oranga Tamariki want to talk with you?
    Oranga Tamariki would like to hear your views on the financial support available to you through either the Orphan’s Benefit or the Unsupported Child’s Benefit. This will help them better understand your needs and the needs of children and young people in your care.

    While Work and Income (MSD) manages the payments, Oranga Tamariki advises the Government on children living with carers getting the Orphan’s Benefit and Unsupported Child’s Benefit.

    Taking part is voluntary
    Choosing not to take part won’t affect any payments you get.
