Thanks to National Office for this update:

    Tēnā koutou GRG members,

If you are receiving the Unsupported Child or Orphan’s Benefit for any of the children in your care, you are entitled to apply to the Extraordinary Care Fund.

Please see below updated information about the next funding round to get your applications in which has been extended until 19 June 2020.

The ECF is a grant of up to $2,000 for each child who is supported by the UCB or OB per year(1 July-30 June).  It is a grant for extra costs for the child where they may be:

experiencing difficulties that are significantly impacting on their development; e.g. they may need extra tuition (outside of schooling) or orthodontic treatment, or they may need a BYOD device for school.
showing promise in a particular area – e.g. they may have an interest in creative/arts, sports, other hobbies that they would like to pursue.
Our website has guidelines on what is and what isn’t covered by this fund.  Please read these guidelines carefully, especially regarding what supporting documentation you need to go with your application.

The application form is also on our website. There are three funding rounds each year but the maximum amount you can apply for over the course of a year is $2000 per child.
